Multi-Function Facilities Support Services, Naval Air Station (NAS) Whiting Field, FL
NAS Whiting Field serves as a naval aviation training facility with more than 1,200 aviators from the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Air Force, and allied nations completing their primary flight training annually. It is home base for approximately 350 aircraft and is the busiest Naval Air Station in the world. PRI provides services to operate, maintain, repair, and improve facilities, utility systems, grounds, vehicles, and equipment, including wastewater collection, pumping, and disposal systems; potable water, pumping, wells, treatment, storage, and distribution systems; electrical distribution and emergency generation systems; liquefied petroleum and natural gas distribution systems fuel distribution systems; heating ventilation, air condition, refrigeration, and compressed air and vacuum systems; building and structures; hazardous waste or material management and disposal; grounds and surfaced areas; swimming pools; elevators; pest control; transportation; messenger mail; and housing maintenance.
Grounds include two separate airfields, 14 outlying landing fields, 300 military housing units, and various technical sites. Our span of responsibility covers the main complex located on approximately 4,000 acres, 14 outlying landing fields located on 6,000 acres, the military family housing complex, and other outlying areas.
