Here are the rules governing how everyone becomes eligible for a
position in the Local Lodge from the
President of the Local Lodge
to the
Local Contract Shop Steward.
To be eligible you must be a member in good
standing which means ...
1.a member of the Local Lodge for 12 months by the date of
nominations.
2.free from delinquency to the Grand Lodge, District Lodge or
Local Lodge.
3.made 50% of the required meetings at the nominations of said
position.
4.who is not barred from holding union office by
applicable civil law.
5.who is not on indefinite layoff.
Meeting excuses are only accepted for the following five reasons in accordance with the IAM Constitution and the Local Lodge Bylaws ....
1. Members who are confined because of verified illness,
2. on vacation,
3. on official I.A.M. business approved by the L.L., D.L., or
G.L.,
4. working for an employer on regular or travel assignment,
5. or on reserved military leave at the time the L.L. meeting is
held,
shall be excused from attending L.L. meetings.
The following is a list of dates for the
regular business meetings for Local Lodge 2777 in the year 2012
subject to change depending on circumstances unknown.
